LIGHT & DEFT EP LAUNCH

At long last it is here. We're very very happy to be able to say our new EP, Light & Deft, is now available for you to listen to.

It's been a lot of work for four songs, but we wanted to make sure this EP was a step forward from our previous release. We spent a long time experimenting with the songs and arrangements, with the addition of the two Sophies on accordion and trumpet enabling us to create the broader, more expansive sound we were all after. We also felt free to try new techniques; at the end of the title track Light & Deft, we recorded Emma [violin] multiple times, without letting her hear back her previous takes. We then mixed these takes together, letting them weave with each other, relying on serendipity to create the arrangement.

All four songs came together in the end, and began to feel like ours. And, in truth, there is little more to say. We don't want to go in to great detail about what the songs are about, as that's for you to do if you so wish. But we had a huge amount of fun creating this record, and we are proud of it.

Now would also seem an appropriate occasion to thank all of our followers and friends who have come to so see us play, often many times, some of whom have even contributed to this EP. We've already begun working on a further 14 songs, which we hope to be able to play to you soon in some form, after not so long a wait.
